No matter which Linux distro you run, chances are it came with a magnificent little image editor called GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program). Unlike Paint and other free-with-your-OS image editors, GIMP is a full featured graphics app with a broad range of capabilities that rival those os Adobe Photoshop.

Playing with GIMP is never boring, every time you do some experiment you come to know of some cool effect. The best part are the filters, which if applied properly, can produce jaw dropping effects. While experimenting with GIMP I came to know that how easily I could create a glassy text with gimp.

Having used both GIMP and Adobe Photoshop I must say I personally believe GIMP is much better for common folks like you and me who need a relatively simpler set of tools to make quick edits to our Vacation pictures. Photoshop is undoubtedly more useful graphic designers, however for making quick tweaks, nothing beats GIMP.

’ve merged cubecaps into cubeaddon, to be able to transform the cube caps. With this functionality I was able to create a full sphere deformation of the cube. I’ve also fixed the rotate plugin to report proper progress for the inside cube mode to allow deformation in “inside cube”.

I don’t really remeber when and where, but I have read once about that GIMP isn’t suitable to create pseudo 3D graphics. Nothing more fallible. I will try to show you that it’s wrong.
