Firefox developers say they're close to plugging an information leakage hole that has plagued every major browser for more than a decade.

Developers working on Mozilla's next browser Tuesday added a privacy mode to the still-under-construction Firefox 3.1, a major milestone in the development of the upgrade.

Mozilla Corporation has claimed that the transition to Firefox 3.1 won’t be “a major pain-in-the-ass” and pledged developers will not be hit by “surprises along the way”, after royally hacking off users with the 3.0 launch.

Firefox 3 developers are taking all the time that they need to accomplish their new Firefox. After the Beta 1 Mozilla has released Firefox 3 beta 2 to get more feedbacks about bugs from its testing community. Bugzilla was a little bit busy lately since the beta 1 thousands of bugs fortunately 900 of them are fixed. Firefox developers are trying to reveal more bugs to make their Firefox 3 better. The Beta 2 features are very promising and the Firefox 3 will definitely beat all competitors.

The Mozilla Firefox developers have begun spreading the new Firefox 3.5.6 to the ftp mirror servers around the world which is an indication that the public release is imminent. Release notes and information have not been updated yet.

Mozilla has been forced to justify its decision to herd third party coders, whose add-ons sometimes break the Firefox user interface, away form the browser's components directory. Earlier than originally planned, the Mozilla Foundation developers have released Firefox version 3.6.2, closing a security hole that prompted the German Federal Office for Information Technology Security (BSI) to issue a warning about using Firefox.
