The Wine development release 1.1.29 is now available.
What's new in this release:
* Improved Gecko integration by using Wine's network layers.
* Use of external libmpg123 for mp3 decoding.
* Support for JPEG and PNG formats in WindowsCodecs.
* Many regression test fixes for Win64 and Windows 7.
* Various bug fixes.

What is the difference between commercial Wine products and vanilla Wine?
There are three main commercial Wine products: Bordeaux, Cedega, and Crossover. There are a few distinct differences between the commercial Wine products and the FOSS Wine.

On October 12, 2013, KDE Forums reached a significant milestone: their five year anniversary. The KDE Community Forums is the main way users can receive support from KDE. The Forums have more than 40,000 threads and over 200,000 posts. With a large number of registered users, the Forums make up the foundation for KDE user support and communication about software and applications.
One of the strong points of the Ubuntu community is the forums. To many new users, the ability to get quick answers to their questions for free is an incredible resource. Unfortunately, not every user has a great experience on the forums. WorksWithU recently posted a list of tips for those giving support on the Ubuntu forums.
I was recently surprised to discover that many people are not familiar with WINE, what it does, or how easy it can be to make it do it. That, coupled with the recent post-beta, stable release of WINE itself, pushed me to help get the word out.
