Battle for Wesnoth is an amazingly addictive 2-D turn-based strategy game with some role playing game elements thrown in for spice. It runs under Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X. Wesnoth can be played solo, using one of the several single-player adventures (campaigns) available, or over the Internet with other people.

After more than a year of constant development, The Battle for Wesnoth 1.6 was put out on March 22. This release comes with new graphics and unit portraits, a new campaign, called 'Legend of Wesmere', the possibility to log into the multiplayer with the forum account, and many, many other improvements.

I’m used to making a review for each of the new major Wesnoth release, and so it is no exception with the latest version. It’s been almost two years since the last stable release, which was Wesnoth 1.8 released on April 1st, 2010, and 1.10 brings a whole bunch of new features, new graphics and tons of improvements regarding every aspect of the game over the previous versions.

It's been a while since I made the Battle for Wesnoth 1.2.8 Review, and now the brand new 1.4.2 release is out. What are the new features? What changed or improved since the last stable version? I will try to review most of the new features in the last Wesnoth release, as well as including some in-game screenshots.

The Battle For Wesnoth is a must-have for any fans of turn based strategy games. The AI is simple on the surface, but actually quite complicated, and is a very engaging game.
