Swiftfox is an optimized Mozilla Firefox which has different builds depending on your processor which makes it much faster than the normal Firefox because that's compiled to work for everybody, but not optimized for a specific processor architecture.

Mozilla today released Firefox 3.5 Release Candidate 2, which you can download from Mozilla's Web site. Release Candidate 2 is the first version of Firefox 3.5 that average users might want to run, since it's faster and more stable than the beta versions were. Firefox 3.5 boasts a number of significant changes.

Although Firefox 3.5 (formerly Firefox 3.1) is still in beta, Mozilla is already developing Firefox 3.6 code-named Namoroka. Slated for an early-to-mid 2010 release, the browser will be marketed as Firefox.next (FX) moniker in a nod to new technologies set to take Firefox to the next level.

Mozilla has released a fifth Firefox 4.0 development preview , labelled Firefox 3.7 Alpha 5, based on the latest Gecko web rendering platform. This alpha adds support for the WebM video format, and there are 64-bit builds for Linux and Mac OS X

Mozilla developers are now testing the next stable build of the Firefox 3.5.x series. Firefox 3.5.7 is now available as a beta build for testers to try out.

Mozilla has switched to a quick-paced "sprint" cycle for Firefox that it hopes will bring new features to users faster, the company's browser architect said today.

"The first Firefox 3 Release Candidate is now available for download. This milestone is focused on testing the core functionality provided by many new features and changes to the platform scheduled for Firefox 3.

"...I wager that most of the technically-adept Mozilla community, who should be the first people to test new versions of the browser and file high quality bug reports, have a large set of addons they can't do without. And until those addons are available for Firefox 3.0b1, they won't be migrating - or will do so only for dedicated testing sessions, not every-day browsing..."
