Every program has some impact on
Every program has some impact on the free software community. Most proprietary programs compete with some free program; that doesn't mean they're all worth discussing. The only really interesting thing about Safari is that it uses KHTML and kJS, so that's what I mentioned.

Are you going to say this sort of thing every time a piece of news comes in that is not about free software but that has an impact on the free software community?
Safari is now a competitor to Firefox on Windows machines. You do understand it is, therefore, newsworthy to the free software community, right?

You're right that Mozilla is commenting, and Mozilla is free software. That's a reasonable justification for a story here. But I'm still not very interested.
