MegaGlest 3.9.0 was released a few days ago. The latest release of this free (as in liberty and in beer) multi-player real-time strategy game brings lots of new game assets such as nicer units models, animated game environments (tilesets) and several new maps. But most importantly cross-platform network games are now stable (no more "out of synch" errors between Linux and Windows). Also, network performance on sketchy connections has improved a lot, so you can even play with a player on the other end of the planet or with a mediocre Internet connection (within limits).
In other news, the games' source code/asset repositories have just moved from sourceforge (subversion) to GitHub (git), easing contributions.
