Poisoned candy
Sites dedicated to foolish pursuits like "eye-candy" collections would provide an attractive base for those distributing malware to the weaker intellects gathered there.

If Gnome supports malware...
Maybe it's time to move en masse to another window manager. A given desktop should not support malware. Any supporting scripting or run-time environments should be secure or they're breaking the covenant with the user. I'm this close >| |< to dropping Gnome for good. I generally don't give software a second chance on security or stability. I don't use gedit because it crashed once. It was supposed to be a basic text editor and it crashed once. I use leafpad now. Gnome is supposed to be a window manager and desktop environment. If it serves as a malware-run-time environment, I'm done with Gnome.
