So I recently decided I wanted to find out more about Windows 7, have the opportunity to form an opinion about it. Having mostly heard good things, I wanted to give it a try and find out if the guys at Redmond finally got it right.

I have recently acquired a brand new MacBook (2.2 GHz, 1Gb RAM). The first thing I did with it was to resize the OSX partition using Boot Camp to make space for Linux. Now my MacBook dualboots Leopard and Ubuntu.

Now I’ve tried installing Ubuntu on my Mac before, actually just around the time I purchased my MacBook, but many features were on an experimental level back then if they even existed, but I figured that with this new Ubuntu-release, MacBook-support should’ve matured.

After upgrading to Ubuntu 10.4 LTS, I was happy to notice that audio in all applications (including Skype) was finally working perfectly! However, I was less happy to notice that Pulseaudio was using quite a lot of CPU-time, and that the sound quality was absolutely awful... So I decided to give OSS4 a try.

In my palatial estate in scenic Waltham, Massachusetts, aka my apartment, I have several computers. My two favorite computers to use are my Lenovo X60 (running SLED 10 SP1) and my Apple Macbook Pro running OS X (10.4.10). I also have a whitebox machine from Intel that I use as my server running SLES 10 SP1.

Finally I got some time away from my work and I decided to explore something new. I decided to install Ubuntu. I am familiar with Windows and the Mac but I haven’t really touched Ubuntu. So I shrink my Windows Vista partition by 60 GB and throw in Ubuntu to dual-boot.

We finally got our huge Christmas tree in this year, which means that our house decorations are finally done. That’s great, because now I have time for other important decorations: my Linux box.

After messing around with PCLinuxOS, I finally decided it was time to give Linux Mint a try. The funny thing was I had the torrent file around on my computer but I never got around to downloading it and decided to give PCLinuxOS a try because of it's popularity on DistroWatch.com.
