KMess is a MSN Messenger client for KDE Users in Linux. It enables Linux users to chat with friends online who are using MSN Messenger in Windows or Mac OS or Linux. The strength of KMess is it’s integration with the KDE desktop environment, focus on MSN Messenger specific features and an easy-to-use interface.

I’ve mentioned a couple of times that, at least in my opinion, KDE is losing out to GNOME because there simply aren’t as many Qt applications as GTK ones. Competition breeds quality, and as a result, I find Qt applications in general to be inferior.

The KOffice team is very happy to announce the arrival of KOffice 2.2.0, half a year after version 2.1 was released. This release brings an unprecedented number of new features and bugfixes as can be seen in the full list of changes. There are two reasons for this very high development rate. Firstly, people have started to notice KOffice again and the developer community is growing.

On this day in 2004, i made a post with the subject line “3… 2… 1.0!” to announce the release of libs11n, which had been in heavy development for almost 18 months at that time. A year and a day later, 1 January 2005, 1.2.0 was released.

The KDevelop Hackers are proud and happy to announce that KDevelop 4.0 is finally available as a stable release. Released together is the first version of KDevelop PHP plugins, which make KDevelop a very interesting option for PHP developers.

KDevelop is a free, open source Integrated Development Environment. After two eventful months the KDevelop team is happy to announce the immediate availability of KDevelop 4.2.3. This is a stable release which fixes dozens of bugs.
