KDE released the first release candidate for its renewed Workspaces, Applications, and Development Platform. With API, dependency and feature freezes in place, the KDE team's focus is now on fixing bugs and further polishing new and old functionality. 91 more bugs were fixed since the beta2 release and about 40 regressions were identified and mostly fixed as well.

PlayOnLinux 3.8 is now out!

A lot of bugs have been fixed,

- Fixed Bug #22,
- Ukranian file should be called uk.po instead ua.po,
- PlayOnLinux can no longer run in its own environement,
- The program does not alert the user that 3D acceleration is not present when mesa-utils packet is not installed,
- Fixed a bug in libraries loading,

Firefox 3 developers are taking all the time that they need to accomplish their new Firefox. After the Beta 1 Mozilla has released Firefox 3 beta 2 to get more feedbacks about bugs from its testing community. Bugzilla was a little bit busy lately since the beta 1 thousands of bugs fortunately 900 of them are fixed. Firefox developers are trying to reveal more bugs to make their Firefox 3 better. The Beta 2 features are very promising and the Firefox 3 will definitely beat all competitors.

In the month since the second beta the KDE community has fixed hundreds of bugs. Development of features has been frozen for a while now and the Software Compilation is at the point where it needs a good testing to shake out the last issues. The final release of KDE SC 4.5 is expected for August 4th.

Right before Christmas, KDE has published the first candidate for the upcoming release of KDE 4.6.0. The focus at this stage is on fixing bugs and completing translations and artwork. As such, the rework of the Oxygen icon set is nearing completion, many bugs reported by testers in the past weeks have been fixed and stabilization is still in full swing.

Open-source code is more prone to severe flaws than commercial software, but bugs get fixed more quickly, according to revealing new research from application security firm Veracode.

KDE Software Compilation 4.9.5 is here and the list of 36 recorded bugfixes include improvements in the Dolphin file manager. KDE's development platform has received a number of updates which affect multiple applications. There are also translation updates.

The Bordeaux Technology Group released Bordeaux 2.0.10 for Linux today. Bordeaux 2.0.10 is a maintenance release that fixes a number of small bugs. With this release we have updated winetricks, fixed a bug in the Bordeaux GUI, fixed a bug in the Cellar manager and made other small bug fixes.
