HP has upgraded its Linux-ready "Mini" netbooks, offering its new "HP Mini 110 with Mi" at a much lower $280 pricetag than the previous Mini 1000.

Today I’d like to talk about my experiences with Fedora 12 over the last couple of weeks. I’ve been running it as my main desktop and really getting a feel for how it ticks. Fedora is the community release from corporate Linux giants Red Hat. I’ve used it on and off since its inception back in the early 2000’s, it’s fair to say there have been big highs and lows in that time.

Today I thought I’d report back in detail on my experiences with Fedora 11, the community distribution release from perennial Linux giants Red Hat.

WE GOT VMware Fusion for a song when my wife bought her MacBook Pro, and the dilettante in me couldn't resist using it to give Ubuntu 8.04 "Hardy Heron" a whirl. I'd heard good things about this popular Linux distribution and I was eager to compare it to Mac OS X – if only to see what it offered and if it held any advantages over the ease of use, elegance, and robustness of my preferred OS.

I just installed a popular distro in Indonesia called Blankon. This distro is based on Ubuntu 9.10. Off course with all features and capabilities of Ubuntu 9.10.

I have been using Ubuntu since version 5.04 came out. And let me add, this is the damnest Linux distro out there today !! I was a Debian devotee but after 4 years of Ubuntu, now I am a born-again Ubuntu convert.

By now, I have tested many Linux distros. But I had yet to come across any distro that actually did better in VMware then on actual hardware. Until now.
