You are not alone, but your opinion is not the only one.
I haven’t seen any policy on this website that says entries must be in English, although the site itself is in English.
I don’t care about minor releases of WINE, so I don’t read posts about them. Are they anything but spam to me?
Frequent down-votes and complaints on FSDaily only show that this site is active enough that voting down makes sense for more than simple spam filtering (but not active enough for many articles to stay untouched).
Yes, I've posted some of these articles to promote Esperanto Wikinews (but not this one or the Korea one). But they were surprisingly popular (I suppose the least popular ones may have been out of context for FSDaily [Firefox Input], or didn’t have enough UPD:+ specially informative and interesting recognizable words near the beginning [Firefox Mobile]); and looking at the ratings of articles on similar subjects, English wouldn't necessarily give them many additional up-votes.
Even without counting people who can't read English well, the articles I write would probably have a wider audience if they were in Russian than if they were in English, even though they are not just translations.
