Clementine is a modern music player and library organiser. Clementine is a port of Amarok 1.4, with some features rewritten to take advantage of Qt4.

I’m really not a fan of the new Amarok, and I’ve been as yet unsuccessful in finding something to replace my beloved Amarok 1.4...

Fortunately, I’m not the only Amarok 1.4 lover out there. It’s been forked, and the new version is called Clementine.

Clementine is a KDE4 port of the beloved music player Amarok 1.4. Although Clementine still needs work done in order to reach Amarok's functionality - like support for scripts, or for example I couldn't get it to add a whole music directory to the playlist - is there a way to do it? - it comes with pretty decent features up to now:

Clementine 0.4 was just released, bringing some very interesting new features such as: support for multiple, tabbed playlists, support for loading and saving XSPF, M3U, PLS and ASX playlists, global hotkeys and a lot more!

Clementine is a fantastic music playback/library management app, and my new music player of choice. Hats off to the people at Clementine for keeping Amarok 1.x alive, and moving it into the new century.
