If you ever went to a cyber cafe, you probably noticed that any changes you make to their system: create or delete files, settings and so on, are reseted when you restart the computer. That's what the Deep Freeze program does. Ofris is a Deep Freeze like application for Linux that is very easy to use - once you install it, you can "deep freeze" your Linux computer in a matter of seconds.

Lethe is a Deep Freeze-like partition freezing software for Debian GNU/Linux and Lihuen GNU/Linux (May work on other Debian-based GNU/Linux distributions).

Buried deep within a "bits from the release team" posting to the Debian development community is this text: "Based on feedback of the community we are revisiting the decision to freeze December 2009."

The vast majority of Windows users in the world have never experienced the advantages that a multiple desktop computer environment provides. That is because most people use Microsoft Windows and that operating system only comes with a single desktop environment*.
