The Berlin-based union of the German police issued a press release two days ago, where they said that their “Poliks” system to handle reports isn’t stable and reliable enough. Taking up a report into that system often would take between 30 and 90 minutes, which would be awkward. Also, the 73 million Euro system would crash far too often.

Centered on networking, this was the tenth year of the conference, which is held different places around South America each year and is given by speakers and instructors from all over the world, but mostly from Spanish speaking countries. I think I was their only non-Spanish speaking lecturer, and as such they took good care of me, assigning me an English speaking "angel".
