This year, like every, I see many blog posts entitled something along the lines of "[insert year here] will be the year of Linux" and then they list reasons why, usually something like a new file browser, KDE4 looking beautiful, Linux being lighter then windows, distro-x being easier to use etc. etc. But the problem with all these statements is it implies that the target audience (generally the non Linux initiated) are a) attracted to these technologies, b) able to view these technologies, and c) are interested enough in these technologies to look into them further.
