It’s only a little more than a month from now, the seventh Ohio LinuxFest. This year we will be celebrating 40 years of Unix!

Saturday night, as I was leaving the Ohio LinuxFest after party, One of the organizers shared with me her aphrensions about the value of the event, and how the community resoundingly put those apprehensions to rest.

2007 has been an exemplary year for software freedom, which makes the keynote speakers selected for Ohio LinuxFest 2007 particularly fitting. The Ohio LinuxFest organizers are proud to announce that Max Spevack and Bradley Kuhn will be keynoting this year.

This year was the first time ever that I've had the wonderful opportunity to visit Ohio Linux Fest, sometimes referred to as Ohio Linux Con. This year's theme was "40 Years of Unix" and there was a lot there that focused on that theme.

o3 magazine was reporting live from Ohio LinuxFest 2007. A full report on the event, along with reports from immediately after the talks. Coverage is more enterprise related, but will give you a pretty good idea of some the happenings at the event.

Ohio LinuxFest is definitely one of my favorite Linux and open-source conferences. If you've never been to a Linux conference, now is a great time to begin. If you have, it's also a great time to experience this conference.

With a little outreach effort, and embracing diversity as a core value, the Ohio LinuxFest has successfully recruited more women to share their experience at OLF.
