The Linux Foundation, the nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of Linux and open source software, today announced that its Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) governance workgroup, called FOSSBazaar, has nearly doubled its membership since launching in January.

For one, as you get deeper into the free software world, you start to see that directed financial support is important. You start to subscribe to free software products, doing automatic monthly payments, you donate, sometimes quite a lot, to developers who make software that matters to you.

The space is crowded with membership plugins, why a new one? Perhaps you can just go and check, this is the quickest start I have seen so far.

At LinuxTag 2010, the KDE community announced the "Join the Game" campaign to support KDE e.V.'s Supporting Membership Program. The first new member was Georg Greve, founder of Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE). We caught up with him for a 'short' interview that turned into a two hour conversation about life, the universe and everything. The pertinent bits are excerpted below.

The Linux Foundation (LF), the nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of Linux, today announced that Texas Instruments (TI) is joining the Foundation.
