Until October 22 you can nominate a person, a project or an organisation for the Nordic Free Software Award. The Nordic Free Software Award given to people, projects or organisations in the Nordic countries that have made a prominent contribution to the advancement of Free Software. The award will be announced during FSCONS 2010 in Gothenburg.

Bjarni Rúnar Einarsson, Free Software developer and community builder from Iceland, has received the Nordic Free Software Award. Einarsson has been a leading figure in Iceland's Free Software movement for more than a decade.

Erik Josefsson is the winner of the Nordic Free Software Award 2011. With the award, the Swedish Foundation for Free Culture and Free Software (FFKP) honours Josefsson for his achievements as a campaigner for freedom in the information society. [...]

Free Software Foundation president Richard M. Stallman announced the winners of the FSF's annual Free Software Awards at a ceremony held during the LibrePlanet 2013 conference.

The Free Software Foundation has started the nomination phase of the Free Software Awards 2009. Interested parties can nominate, by email, projects that have addressed important social issues and propose people who have brought honour to free software this year for an award. Previous winners may not be nominated and nominations close at the end of October.
