The freedom haters are back and are behind a proxy organization which follows the same goals. The Limo foundation announced a few days ago it’s new collaborative efforts with the Gnome Foundation. I however know it’s just a big old scam.

So I’ve become a huge fan of Linux Haters blog because he makes some very valid points about Linux and the open source community in general and it got me thinking of why I moved from Windows to Linux in the first place.

I’ve been spending far too much time reading a blog recently. Normally I dislike reading blogs, or as my friend from the IT News site “the Register” Andrew Orlowski calls them; “Wikki W**kers”. They are usually rather vacuous and the pressure to write something, anything, to attract attention means there is very little worth reading...However, the LinuxHaters blog is rather different

If you have ever read my comments on the PC World forum, it is obvious that I love Linux. But many people are afraid to use a new operating system because they are so attached to Windows. They are scared of the possibility of having to use the command line!

Let’s bust some myths today because a majority of KDE 4 haters out there have the same reasons for hating it. I’m pretty sick of seeing posts and news articles about “why I don’t like KDE 4″ and then seeing that the real reason the person is upset is because they don’t spend an extra few moments trying to figure things out…aka lazy and ignorant.

I hear this too often - Windows is easier to use than Linux. And so in light of this, being as I have used both operating systems for years, I thought I would put this to the test, the results are not going to make Windows users feel too good about this desktop choice overall, I'm afraid.

Striking new features are the Compiz Fusion 3D compositing window manager, KDE 4.0, Gnome 2.24 and a redesigned installer, but Mono-haters won't be happy to see the large amount of Microsoft .NET software that ships as standard.

Did Roy put his name in for the Ubuntu Technical Board when nominations were open? Did any of the strident Microsoft-haters? No, not a single one. Too busy "advocating".
