The Libre Graphics Meeting brings together developers and users of free software graphics applications, such as the GIMP, Inkscape, Scribus, Blender, Krita, the Open Clip Art Library and more. This year the conference is in Wroclaw, Poland and we need to raise money to support travel for all these (often unpaid) Open Source developers to attend.

Already the fifth edition, Libre Graphics Meeting continues to grow and to become more relevant. Both attendance and organization were amazing this year. There were, of course, the developers of the various libre graphics software projects: gimp, inkscape, scribus, mypaint, nathive, blender, krita, laidout, nodebox, shoebot, phatch and many more.

The fourth pre-release of Mandriva Linux 2008 Spring is here. This pre-release brings recognition of other installed distributions during installation, NTFS-3G (with write support) by default for all NTFS partitions, significant improvements to the Mandriva graphical software management tool and more. Controversy in the Mandriva world this afternoon. Vincent Danen is all doom and gloom, citing declining numbers of posts to mailing lists as evidence of a shrinking community.
