Kubuntu 7.10 RC was announced as available several days ago. I installed it immediately, and I have to say, I’m very impressed! While other articles will no doubt focus on the many benefits that Kubuntu 7.10 will bring, I’d like to look forward into the future.

he wasnt just comparing gnome and
he wasnt just comparing gnome and kde. he was saying that because gnome isnt being developed as fast as kde is now, it will fall behind eventually and maybe ubuntu linux will switch to using kde instead of gnome. that means that the kubuntu project would be irrelevant.
i dont think that'll be the case because gnome has a lot of community support especially from the fsf, novell and sun. and i dont think that kubuntu has to worry. kde has always been available from apt and so even ubuntu users can install it really easily.

The shots of KDE4 show that it's a little bit less ugly indeed. I am not sure about the functionality since I haven't tried 4.0 yet.
But it indeed changes faster than GNOME. Plus, it is easier to use (for me), although both KDE and GNOME make me ill.

that is true, however, the gnome developers have decided to evolve rather than revolutionize, so they will keep moving forward at a steady pace, rather than sudden leaps every five to six years

even if one could call kde4 evolutionary
even if one could call kde4 evolutionary from a feature standpoint, it is not from a code standpoint. they rewrote everything at once
