In case you were not aware
In case you were not aware after reading this interview, Kashuba isn't a proponent of software freedom.
For example, he distinguishes between open source and commercial software as if open source is not subject to commercial exploitation; it is a wrong to believe this is true. Another clue is the fact that he refers (almost) exclusively to open source and shows no regard for advocating freedom. Instead, he focuses on the practical benefits that result from the right to live in freedom.

Objective-realism vs wet finger in the wind.
Whether people affiliate themselves with "open source" business alliance or with the Free Software Movement seems to depend in part on whether or not they believe in objective reality.
Those who do not believe in reality don't really care about the substantive issues. They just use their rudimentary social intuition to find the safer affiliation which is usually the larger faction.
"Open Source" is for people who prefer to be different but don't want to contemplate specific issues very long. "Open Source" affiliation is also for people who would eat candy-coated rodent droppings.
Those of us who have a more discriminating palate will not eat any kind of droppings whether they're candy-coated or dipped in chocolate and rolled in colorful sprinkles.
