Open source moves at a different speed to commercial software. This has become apparent over the last decade as Linux and its open source fellow travellers (Apache, Open Office, MySQL, Firefox ,et al) gradually established their position in the software world.

Dominant OS? What it means? Linux
Dominant OS? What it means?
Linux is yet the dominant OS for server environment, thanks also to Apache project (don't you think so?).
Linux is becoming a valid alternative to Microsoft Windows or MacOS for desktop environment.
I think that Linux will not become the dominant OS because this statement has no sense, but I think that Linux will be a nice OS (it is a nice OS) that will represents a free (and good) choice in the future (I'm an happy gentoo user!).
