AboutWelcome to Free Software Daily (FSD). FSD is a hub for news and articles by and for the free and open source community. FSD is a community driven site where members of the community submit and vote for the stories that they think are important and interesting to them. Click the "About" link to read more...
Surely this is a good thing... FSM now has competition in the 'free software' news market (as opposed to the 'open source' or plain old 'linux' news markets).
FSM is a magazine (style site) their articles are in depth... not a news site.
But I guess you mean FSDaily. The difference is Blue GNU will be a news source not a news hub.
FSDaily's competition is Tuxmachines.org, LinuxToday.com and Lxer.com. However, all of those sites decide what news you should read rather than letting you decide, so FSDaily is really in its own league... that's why I am here... because I get to submit the news and so do you.
AFAIK, what C733tus is saying is correct? I will be reading and submitting news from Blue Gnu to FSDaily, if they don't beat me to it. I'm sure like us they won't end up displaying MS ads like so many other so called "Linux oriented" news sites.
Yes, I did mean FSDaily. I'm sure I'm not alone in making the mistake of considering them 'as one' however your point is taken; they are very different beasts.
And news hub as opposed to news source is also an important distinction to draw. Frankly, I've never visited any of those 'Linux' sites but I might just keep an eye on BlueGnu because of its claim that it will "focus more narrowly on Free Software and is closely aligned, editorially, with the Free Software Foundation."
