After nine months of development version 1.8 of the open source JavaScript user interface framework JQueryUI has been released, with new button and autocomplete widgets

The AGPLMail is said to be a AGPL'd webmail application which competes with(hopefully) and somewhat mimic Gmail. So, it is, in a way, 'AGPLMail is not Gmail' sort of thing.

ZK is an AJAX toolkit designed to make creating user interfaces that run in a Web browser as simple as creating event-driven interfaces for desktop applications. The interfaces created with ZK use an XML markup language to define the user interface and Java code to implement the Web application's functionality.

The MeeGo Project released the baseline source code for the handset version of the Linux-based mobile OS to the development community. This code is being developed as MeeGo 1.1, which is slated for an October release. The MeeGo team also released the MeeGo UI design principles and interaction guidelines.

The first beta version of what will become Ubuntu 12.04, Precise Pangolin, has just been released. The final, stable version will be released by the end of April. This beta release, as with all pre-stable distribution releases, is an invitation for bug hunters to get busy.

Hurd Philip Charles has released the K16 snapshot of the Debian GNU/Hurd system. The K16 CD series includes a mini-ISO, 4 full CD images, and 2 DVD images. For the first time, a QEMU image based on the mini-ISO is provided as well.
