Why I voted down
I voted it down, not because it is bout Microsoft, but because the author doesn't think in terms of free or nonfree software. What's good for "Linux" isn't necessarily good for Free Software.
For example, how does it help free software, if Microsoft (or whoever) ports proprietary software to GNU/Linux? How does it help, if somebody would give "free trial versions" of GNU/Linux together with a "real" operating system? And so on....

Exactly. Plus..
Exactly. Plus, I'm surprised that someone as knowledgeable and professional as Jack Wallen actually buys the big fat lie that a company who breaks the standards, manipulates and exploits the law and is monopolizing the entire market, like Microsoft, would ever do anything for the benefit of anybody else but itself.
I'm not being a troll here, nor a fanboy or whatever, but I'm just placing my point of view, based on the facts that I keep reading almost everyday.
