Novell is in trouble. As Novell CFO Dana Russell said during the recent earnings call, "Our Linux business is dependent on large deals, which may result in some fluctuations of our quarterly invoicing. Moving ahead, Novell plans on reducing the prices of its products.

Novell slept with dogs (Microsoft) and now has fleas.
They have given succor to Microsoft by aiding and abetting Microsoft in their patent-trolling strategy against software freedom. For this, Novell has lost the goodwill of the free & open source software community. Novell still has further to fall.
Probably, Microsoft cannot afford to bail them out again, and after Hovespian (CEO) uses up their funds with his humongous multi-million dollar salary, there won't be much left for daily business operations. Are we looking at another SCO?
