Why does Red Hat tolerate CentOS?

Google is giving web masters access to the malicious code it finds in their web pages. If the Google bot detects malicious code when indexing a web page, search results pointing to this page will be tagged with an appropriate warning. Website operators can now use the Webmaster Tools to access detailed information about the affected code and trace a problem more quickly

A friend said to me recently that “Firefox is for the home, Internet Explorer is for the office.” His comments reflect commonly found stigma and fears that free and open source software – and Linux too – are not suitable for a business environment. Let me set the record straight, giving real feedback from companies who have made the switch and don’t look back.

Oracle and now IBM seem to have strange ideas about creating a business around open source software for the enterprise. First it was Oracle's Unbreakable Linux program, derived from Red Hat Enterprise Linux sans its proprietary bits and supported for peanuts to beat RHEL and similar community projects such as CentOS.

The chairman of the Free Software Foundation, Richard Stallman, has called for internet file-sharing to be legalised in order that people could benefit from sharing material that they should rightly be able to.

One of the strong points of the Ubuntu community is the forums. To many new users, the ability to get quick answers to their questions for free is an incredible resource. Unfortunately, not every user has a great experience on the forums. WorksWithU recently posted a list of tips for those giving support on the Ubuntu forums.
