Adobe is joining the Linux Foundation as part of an effort to show its commitment to Linux. Adobe is also now making its AIR platform available for Linux -- as an Alpha. Finally there is also an update to the alpha version of Adobe Flex Builder 3 for Linux.

Not News about Free Software
Both Adobe AIR and Adobe Flash are proprietary software. Sean Michael Kerner complains that Adobe has failed to support his desired proprietary programs on his desired platform (user helplessness). Linux is the only thing here that is free, but Linux is just minor point. The major point is that Adobe has joined the Linux Foundation and is also porting Adobe AIR, a proprietary program, onto Linux. The only thing I can recommend about this story is to use it as an example of the subjugation and helplessness involved with being subject to the proprietor
