It has been 22 months since developers started on the new version of Debian, code name Lenny. With most distros releasing every 6 months this is a distro with a different course. One of the things that separates Debian 5 Lenny from other distros is that it supports over 23,000 applications. That is 5 DVDs full of applications.

OK, so you use the same application every time you login. So, you are wondering, how do I start that application so that it is already running when I start up? Easy, create an entry in the Session manager so that it will start on boot. Here is how to do that.

The process of installing Logical Volume Management on install…is well…a task that can present issues for most users. So I have tried to lay out a screenshot and description of this process on Debian 5 “Lenny” because many people will want to use LVM once they understand the value and the process.
