I recently came across Zorin, an Ubuntu based distro that focuses on easing a Windows user's transition to Linux by theming it's interface to look like Microsoft's operating system.

Several readers contacted me, urging me to review Zorin. My interest piqued, I set about the lanes of Google, searching for more information. Zorin aims to be a simple, friendly operating system for Linux newbies.

Zorin OS 2.0 was born on the very first day of 2010. It is an Ubuntu-based distro and comes in a beautifully packaged ~1.4 GB ISO file for both the 32 and 64 bit architectures.

Depending on your expectations, purposes, and somewhat on your luck, there’s a good chance you might be satisfied with Zorin OS. Perhaps most notably I think it is an excellent alternative for those who dislike the new Ubuntu Unity interface.
