There a lot of crappy Ubuntu wallpapers. They either have a sexy girl (which geeks will never have a chance with), Tux vs Microsoft type thing or their plain ugly. That's why I made a list of ten great looking Ubuntu wallpapers I found in the interwebz.
Linux girl has been using Ubuntu for several years now and currently it is her primary operating system. She believes more people should be using open source software rather than proprietary applications.
Unless your into roll playing dressing up as Tux (The Linux Penguin) is not really sexy. If you want to do something sexy for your Geek you may have to do something a little Risque. You’ll have to find your partners stance on BSD first and see how they react to it. Possibly bring it up in conversation some how. If your geek doesn’t blow up in a rage that you mention an inferior operating system then you probably be able to get away with my favorite and the first option (if you do this every one who reads The Linux Blog will want to see the pictures):
"The 30 girls sitting in the Harrington Learning Center at Quinsigamond Community College yesterday were far past VCRs, however. The group of 10- to 14-year-olds was busy installing and configuring the Linux operating system on computers they had finished building. "
I just finished reading Paul Ferrill’s article at Linux Planet titled Build a High Powered Linux Workstation on the Cheap. Most people do not get “shivery” over putting together “sexy” hardware like we hardware geeks do. This is where the system builders such as ZaReason, System 76 and Penguin Computing enter the picture.
A few weeks back the girl I have been dating for awhile now had idly made a complaint about her laptop being poky at certain tasks. I like this girl a lot and figured it was time to take that next step in our relationship: I offered to put Linux on her laptop.
