KDE SC 4.4.4 brings a number of improvements. Several bugs in filename sorting in the Dolphin file manager have been fixed. Issues with encoded filenames in ZIP archives have been fixed. A number of bugs in games, such as KMines, KNetwalk and LSkat and KSpaceDuel have been fixed.
A brute force attack is an attempt to log into a secure system by making lots of attempts in the hopes of eventual success. It’s not a sophisticated type of attack, hence the name "brute force." For example, if you have a login process that requires a username and password, there is a limit as to the possible number of username/password combinations.

Sometimes you get the flaw fixed right the first time and sometimes you don't. For Mozilla, apparently they have not properly fixed at least two types of flaws which they previously claimed to have fixed.
Even though the new version of Pidgin (2.5.2) does not appear on http://pidgin.im/, it seems it was released, as you can see here.
