Today I want to write about some of the biggest wonders on the Linux world, this are my thoughts, and they may differ from yours, and they could even change in my mind after reading what you think the 7 Linux world Wonders should be, so please read this post, and the comment about it.

The other day I wrote an article about the right and wrong ways to bring a user to the Linux world. I stand by my position there, namely that as an IT professional, even if someone’s not ready to embrace Linux as their desktop OS of choice, I still will recommend it down the road… but not until someone is truly ready to take that plunge.

In our previous post, we discussed how mainstream media is adopting linux ('Stop using Windows, Use Ubuntu instead'). And a lot of people started complaining how not-user-friendly Linux really is. Before saying such far fetched statements, one thing they all need to consider is this, Linux!=Windows!

In my few previous posts I've stated that I'd like to help people to spice their system and move from Windows to Linux. But we all know that it cannot be done in an instant. I started to explain the process in last posts. I hope that to this point you got used to those applications I've suggested before. If not, just have another week or two using them, until you're comfortable enough with them.

Realizing that "What if" articles tend to bring out the best and worst in people, I thought it was worth exploring this mindset again, just for kicks. This time, however, there is a clear angle to the idea. One that I hope can crossover and inspire, if nothing else.

The computing world is always very unpredictable. That must be why there is a small number of people who make large amounts of money from it: they are in the right (unpredictable) place, at the right (unpredictable) time. Who would have ever guessed that Javascript, a simple scripting language initially thought as a simple means to make web pages "cooler", would become... drum roll...
