Ask ten bloggers at random what they use to compose their blog posts and chances are that you might get ten different answers to that...For the GNU/Linux users though, the options are pretty limited and I am yet to see a full-blown, feature-rich desktop blog editor that could post to most of the popular blogging engines that are out there.
If you read enough blog posts, or more specifically, comments posted on blog posts, you might get the idea that there are specific structural, technological or systemic reasons why Linux has only a small slice of the desktop market.

What's going on with Xen, the open source hypervisor that was supposed to give VMware a run for its money? I can't remember how many IT trade press articles, blog posts and vendor white papers I've read about Xen in the last few years. If I had a dollar for every piece ever published about Xen, I'd be... well, not quite as rich as the Google kids, but still very well off.
Moonlight 3.0, which puts Microsoft's Silverlight rich Internet plug-in software on Linux and Unix platforms, is now being offered in an alpha release, according to Web pages from the Mono project, which has jurisdiction over Moonlight. The release features infrastructural capabilities designed to move Moonlight closer to the capabilities of Silverlight 3, said Novell, which sponsors Mono.
